Career awareness event sectors:

Our career awareness events help students to identify pathways as they relate to each field whether it includes post-secondary education or jumping straight into the workforce.


Healthcare: PROSPECTS Healthcare is a full day event in partnership with Helena College on the Donaldson Campus where students are exposed to education programs, local employers, and hands on activities to get them excited about the healthcare field.


Manufacturing and Mechanics: Manufacturing and Mechanics Night is an evening event in partnership with Helena College on the airport campus where students are exposed to the programs offered at Helena College, and opportunities with local employers. Parents and guardians encouraged to attend!


Construction: Our construction event will be a two day event exposing students and the community to career paths in the construction industry. We plan to have running equipment, hands on activities, demonstrations and local employers to highlight this high demand industry.


IT/Technology and Finance: Our IT/Tech and Finance night will be the first of it’s kind for Helena WINS in 2023. We plan to highlight education pathways at both Carroll College and Helena College, as well as showcase local employers.


Engineering: Helena WINS will host its first Engineering career awareness event to highlight pathways in the Helena community.


Hospitality: Helena WINS will host students for a fun filled day of exploring all the fun Helena has to offer to our tourists and locals while learning the importance of the hospitality industry and career paths within the sector.

Hospitality employer panel: Employers will have the opportunity to network with each other and have a panel on effective ways to hire and staff your business. Students will have the


Retiree Brunch: Helena WINS hosts the Retiree Brunch twice a year to connect those that may be thinking about re-entering the workforce and businesses to fill current workforce gaps and show that our retirees are valued and needed now more than ever!


Partnered Programs:


HSJP (Helena Area Summer Jobs Program)

HSJP focuses on developing life and work skills that are necessary for success in the workplace, exposing students to potential career pathways, and connecting students with mentors by providing work-based learning experiences for Helena area high school students and recent graduates.


At the same time, participating area businesses and community organizations help strengthen the local economy by connecting youth to meaningful work experiences in the Helena area.


HSJP student participants:

1. Are matched with a paid summer job or paid internship.

2. Complete a pre-summer work skills training.

3. Meet with an adult mentor, focusing on work-based learning.
